Ian Pitchford

For those of you that have met Ian, then passion, enthusiasm and excitement for the outdoors and using this as a vehicle to develop young people you will recognise he has by the truck full. As the therapeutic lead for Adventure Education, Ian uses his rich experience of the Great Outdoors and the Adventure Therapy concept to powerfully help shape and support young people live different lives to the ones they do today.

Ian is a paddlesport coach and coach educator as well as a climber, mountaineer and mountain biker and juggles all of these activities with his work at AE and his family life.

Ian also guest lectures of the therapeutic uses of the outdoors allowing people to understand that the qualification is simply the key to the classroom and not end game, encouraging new outdoor practitioners to understand the power and the importance of the environment they have chosen to work in.

In his spare time he enjoys being with his wife and 2 children and can often be found making the most of the great outdoors.
